Bazhou–Tianjin, China tornadoes 28–29 August 1969 Bazhou, Hebei Province, China–Tianjin 2 146 fatalities, >1,610 injuries On 28 August, a tornado moved from the Hongqiao District to the Nankai District of Tianjin. Six boats were overturned and sank. On the following day, a tornado touched down near Chuhegang Village before moving into Tianjin, dissipating near the Finance and Economics School. The second tornado was much more intense - along the path, trees were uprooted, chimney stacks were toppled, and concrete factories were severely damaged or leveled. The auditorium of the Finance and Economics School was also destroyed. The two tornadoes killed 146 people, of which 52 died in Tianjin and 94 in Chu Hegang Village. Second tornado was rated a high-end F4 (an low-end F5 intensity is plausible) on the Fujita scale.
Hubei, China tornado outbreak 16 April 1977 Hubei Province, China ≥3 118 fatalities, 1,100+ injuries Three tornadoes touched down in Hubei Province. Xiaogan, Huangpi, and Huanggang counties were affected. Concrete buildings were destroyed by the tornadoes and numerous trees were uprooted. In Huanggang County, the auditorium of Zongluzui High School was destroyed during a movie viewing, killing 86 people and injuring hundreds. The Huanggang County tornado alone killed 103 people, and was rated at least F3 on the Fujita scale.
Shaanxi, China tornado 14 April 1978 Xianyang, Shaanxi Province, China 1 84 fatalities, 334 injuries A 15-minute, 300 metres (980 ft) wide tornado destroyed 90% of houses in Zhoucheng village. The tornado path was about 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) long. 945 houses were destroyed, and more than 6,000 trees were damaged.

Tropical Storm Peipah (2025) 5 September 2025 Makinohara, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan 7 1 fatality, 83 injuries A rare and destructive JEF3 tornado, spawned from the outer bands of Tropical Storm Peipah, struck the city of Makinohara and neighboring town of Yoshida, both located within Shizuoka Prefecture. According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, the tornado had estimated winds of 270 km/h (170 mph), making the tornado one of the strongest in Japan on record. Makinohara was hit the hardest, with one fully destroyed structure and nearly two thousand damaged. In total, 83 people were injured, and one man in Yoshida was killed by the tornado as it overturned his car. Another tornado, rated JEF2, affected the city of Kakegawa in the same prefecture.

Philippines

The Philippines experiences on average of around 8 tornadoes annually that range between EF0 and EF2 intensities in the Enhanced fujita scale (EF Scale), some are rated as EFU due to insufficient data. As of 2024, the highest tornadic activity ever recorded was in 2022 with a total of 37 reported tornadoes. Most of these tornadoes form during the wet season, usually on severe thunderstorms or accompanied by typhoons.

Some of these tornadoes go unreported due to them being too weak to cause casualties or they touch down in rural areas with little to no population. There are multiple known tornado incidents that happened in the country. The most notable tornado is the Manila tornado, when on 6 August 2016, a rare EF1 tornado swept through the capital city of Manila. It stayed on the ground for approximately 15 minutes before dissipating. It damaged more than 100 buildings and 2 people were injured as it moves through the city. Another notable example is an extremely rare EF2 tornado in Arayat, Pampanga that formed during Typhoon Ewiniar (2024). This tornado reached estimated wind speeds of up to 125 mph (201 kmh), damaging at least 30 homes and 2 school buildings. Fortunately, no one was reported injured from the tornado.

Two people were killed and more than a 80 others were injured.

Typhoon Kajiki outbreak (2025) 25-26 August 2025 Northern Vietnam, Thanh Hóa 5 1 fatality, 14 injuries Two days of tornadic unrest began late in the evening on August 25, when a powerful tornado struck Kim Bảng district in Ninh Bình. The tornado, though lasting only a few minutes, caused extensive damage to more than 200 homes and businesses. One 88-year-old woman was killed after a wall collapsed onto her, and 14 others were hospitalized with injuries. The following day, four additional tornadoes were reported across northern Vietnam. The first was confirmed in Nông Cống District, Thanh Hóa through videos recorded by local residents. Two more occurred in the Hanoi area, and another touched down in Yên Phong district of Bắc Ninh. In total, the two-day outbreak resulted in 1 fatality and 14 reported injuries.
Typhoon Bualoi outbreak (2025) 27-29 September 2025 Huế, Thanh Hóa, Red River Delta 7 11 fatalities, 45 injuries This outbreak began on September 27 in Huế, where a tornado damaged three homes, followed by another the next day that damaged 75 more, with no casualties in either event. On September 29, multiple large tornadoes struck the Red River Delta. The most destructive was a long-lived wedge tornado that touched down in Hải Thịnh district, Ninh Bình, and tracked across several southern districts, killing nine people and injuring 25. In Yên Khánh district, it swept a two-story billiard hall from its foundation, scattering debris downwind, before dissipating in Đông Hoa Lư district after being at least an hour on the ground. Another wedge tornado struck Thái Thụy district, Hưng Yên, killing two people and injuring at least eight. Two more multi-vortex tornadoes touched down in Vĩnh Bảo district, Hải Phòng, and Đầm Hà district, Quảng Ninh, causing 12 further injuries. The final tornado of the outbreak was a short-lived event in Thượng Cát Ward, Hanoi, with no casualties. In total, 11 fatalities occurred and a further 45 were injured, officially making this the largest and deadliest tornado outbreak in Vietnam's history.
