Notes
- Heilongjiang's officially reported area of 473,000 square kilometres (183,000 sq mi) explicitly includes parts of Inner Mongolia's Oroqen Autonomous Banner administered as Songling District and Jiagedaqi District under Heilongjiang's Daxing'anling Prefecture. The combined area of these two districts is 18,200 square kilometres (7,000 sq mi), which has been subtracted from Heilongjiang's reported area to arrive at the figure of style="text-align:right;" data-sort-value="7011454800000000000"|454,800 |style="text-align:right;" data-sort-value="7011454800000000000"|175,600 reported in the table and corroborated by ref. 6.
