Four people were killed and nine others wounded in the shooting and subsequent close-range assault.

The perpetrator was a 21-year-old Israeli with an automatic weapon. 13 more Palestinians were killed by Israeli forces in subsequent demonstrations to protest the massacre in various parts of the territories.
